I thought I'd post this simply because I'm rather pleased with how this worked. I have an old 80mm
It turns out the tube on the focuser that the .965 diagonal holder screws into has the exact same OD as a regular 1.25" eyepiece, etc. How convenient. So I used some 1.5mm plastic, duct tape, and two hose clamps to make a bracket. One problem solved.
I can't get a 10:1 focuser for this, at least not a
I've had a long week, and getting in last night, the sky was lousy as it had snowed most of the day. However, I was forecasted some clear skies at 9PM. Well, it turned into more like 9:45, and there was still a lot of humidity and some high thins floating about. I was surprised, as the temperature was 21F (-6C). I had set the scope out on the mount at 9:00, so it was certainly cooled. I know fracs are supposedly "ready to go" at a moments notice, but I've found that a temperature drop from room temperature to something like 40F (4C) or lower requires some cooling time to have a steady view.

I had connected my T3/1100D into the Jason about 20 minutes before, so I took 40 shots at ISO 1600 and 1/250, 1/320, and 1/500th respectively. The ones at 1/320th exposure time were the best of the lot. It's funny, at the same ISO with my C80-HD at
These are the pics. I know the Moon shot isn't the best, but neither were my sky conditions. Or even the scope I'm using Though I did notice the
Alrighty, I'm off to bother the family, then bed. Have a good night, all!
