I still have this cold, but after a couple hours sleep I feel somewhat better. Went upstairs to get a drink and of course, look out the back door. Almost full Moon, hazy, and much warmer than last night. That says to me snow is on the way, given the time of year. Great.
Just for something to do and a bit of fresh air, I got my 60mm
I took 5 overexposed pictures of the Moon like above. Then I took 10 at a lower shutter speed, thereby eliminating most of the cloud. Then I took another 5 through our tree, with focus on the branches and again, overexposed.
The first five pictures of the "overexposed Moon" I ran through PIPP at full size, then AS2. This got rid of any dust motes and evened out the haze. The next 10 at the lower shutter speed I did the same thing with; PIPP and AS2. I didn't bother with ImPPG or Registax on that result either. Using PSP 9, I blended the overexposed stack and the Moon stack together. Then I put that over one of the shots I took through the tree branches.
Not anything to be overly thrilled with, but I was just curious as to what I could get out of all this, especially when it came to stacking overexposed shots. Now I know.
I hope your skies are clearer than mine, and all the best
