October 9th Moon

JU9_4999.jpg
I travelled to South Carolina to visit my mom and the skies were not turbulent and there wasn't a drop of dew to be found.

Captured my best picture of the Moon to date. Now just need to wait for that sucker to set and get some really dark skies. For the first time I can see the Andromeda Galaxy even with the Moon shining bright.

Hopefully the clear skies will hold until early morning for a shot at the Orion Nebula.

Excellent capture, Steve! Super nice!

Man, you must be having some great atmospheric transparency to be nailing M31 with the Moon glaring. Awesome! Hopefully that sticks around longer than the Moon. :)

Thanks Bryan. Skies are exceptional compared to back home in Ohio.

Time to hit the hay so I can get up early as I will only be here two nights.

Nicely done Steve! Yeah, it's hard to know where to stop with processing; I've turned out some "interesting" results...

Good for you on the clear skies as well. I need a clear night with no/not a prominent Moon to see M31. That has yet to happen this year!

Enjoy your stay :D

Thanks, it is certainly the best image I have ever captured of the Moon.

My goal is to get close to what you have achieved in your images. I give it many more years but I am on my way. :D
