This is more fun than...

...than sitting in the cab of a '48 Chevy 1-ton truck, chewing tobacco and telling jokes with your buddies, only to go home later and throw up because, well, you chewed tobacco and you are only 13 years old. Not that I've ever done that...

Clear here, though soupy transparency and poor seeing. A bit breezy also.

Another 6-panel mosaic.

SV102T
ZWO ASI174MC
AVX

SharpCap to capture, Autostakkert! to stakkert, Registax for wavelets, GIMP to crop, ICE to composite, and StarTools to moontool it.

I packed up after that.

Bryan, you are a Moon god!!! I love these! Also, I check the entire Astrophotography heading for new updates so I didn't see this was under the sub Lunar images page. My point is this: I saw 'This is more fun than...' and 'bladekeeper' and instantly said to myself, "This has got to be another Moon shot :)"

Yeah, being 13 and chewing tobacco isn't a good combination... When I did that I instantly found the bathroom when I got home; I know you know what I mean!

Shhh! Don't tell my mama I'm a moon god. She thinks I play banjo down at the whorehouse...

The bad part about my tobacco chewing experience was that I lied to my grandparents about why I was sick. My grandfather knew what was up. He knew. Been there, done that, had the stinking t-shirt.

Hey Bryan,

What do you mean by "Autostakkert! to stakkert"? Is stakkert separate program?

Hey Bryan!

Never tried chewing tobacco. Glad for that! I did, however find a jug of port wine under the cabinet once. It wasn’t pretty at all. Actually, it was very ugly. My momma cleaned it all up and never said a word.

Personally, I think you have the ticket with your current process. Best lunar images I’ve ever seen!

Fine work!

Thanks,
Jim

I was trying to be clever. I typically say "Autostakkert to stack" but using stakkert instead amused me. Also why I said I used StarTools to moontool it.

Yeah, I have a 17 year-old child. I'm hard into the eye-rolling dad joke phase. I tried to come up with something for Registax but couldn't, and GIMP conjured all kinds of unsavory stuff so I left that one alone.

Thanks, Jim! I would still like to get the darkest parts a little less darky, and same with the brightest. Fortunately, I have a lot of data to play with, and good opportunities to gather more. Always clearish when the Moon is out. I think I've forgotten what it is like with a clear sky and no Moon.

Ah, good ol' port wine. One of the best laxatives known to man. Never ever trust a port wine fart...

NASA announced today that the planned Moon mission has been cancelled. Reports out of NASA headquarters early this morning indicate that the United States no longer needs such missions because "we now have Bryan Gabbard's astrophotography work."

On a personal level, in this image I spotted the cigarette butts that Neil Armstrong left at the original lunar landing site.

Great work, Bryan!!!

Thanks, Andrey! Ol' Luna was swimming in the turbulence last night. Not too bad unbarlowed, but very shimmery with.

I did enjoy watching several bat transits though. :D
