6-Panel Mosaic, 8 September 2019

So I got cocky. A 3-panel wouldn't fit the Old Illuminated Duder in so I went with 6.

Scopes: Stellarvue SV102T, Astromania 60mm guide scope
Mount: Celestron AVX
Cams: ASI174MC, ASI294MC Pro, ASI120MM-S
Software: SharpCap, Autostakkert!, Registax, GIMP, MS ICE, StarTools

The sky was clenched with high thins and horsetail clouds. Before the end of nautical dusk, I caught a nice broad sucker hole, so I set to work. First up, I ran off on thousand frames of full disk with the SV and the 174. I am having a little debayering trouble with that image so you'll have to take my word for it.

I then noticed the nice little guide scope happily riding atop the SV. Since it had the ASI120MM-S stuffed in its helical focuser, I thought, well, why the heck not. Another 1000 frames in the can. It ain't the best image out there, but ok considering the aperture and focal length of the guider.

After that was done, I pointed SharpCap back at the ASI174MC, added a 2× barlow, and commenced capturing my six panels for the mosaic, each 1000-frame SER files. Be sure to click the image again...

Once I got the 6 panel captures done, I swapped out the ASI174MC for the ASI294MC Pro with the Optolong l-eNhance filter. This was to continue my "lunar cycle" series I've been working on this week.

After that and just for fun, I added my Meade Series 4000 #23A filter to the ASI174MC and ran off another capture. The Moon is kinda fun to observe using this filter, so I was kinda curious how an image would turn out with it.

So that's what I did this evening. After that, I packed up my toys. The rest of the sky was pretty trashy and not fit for visual or other imaging. Hopefully yours was better! :)

Peace and clear skies, friends. :)
