3-Panel Mosaic, 7 September 2019

Post by bladekeeper »

It's a tad on the red side, but I kinda like it that way. :D

Cam: ZWO ASI174MC
Scope: Stellarvue SV102T
Mount: Celestron AVX

I ran off 3x1000-frame SER files, stacked the best 10% with AS!2, Registax for wavelets, GIMP for cropping, MS ICE for compositing, StarTools for seatbelt fastening and rotating to an upright position. :)

Hi Bryan,

A fine lunar composite! I really need to try that sometime!

I really wanted to get out last night, but it was so freakin hot and thick, I passed on it. Better nights ahead! Just awell, because the clouds moved in about 10 p.m.

I really want to get out soon and try a shot at the Iris nebula. I would be thrilled to get half the image you caught!

I will wait until your mosaic target is on the wane.

Great image Bryan. Thanks for starting my morning off with it!

Thanks, Jim! I really tried to be careful on my framing and focus and whatnot with this mosaic. The one from the night before is meh.

Man, it was hot and humid here and very soupy. As soon as the lunar stuff was done, so was I.

Well, you were right, this one is even better! :D Great focus and it must be so nice not to have to deal with that darn "achro-ring" as I call it on the limb.

Well done, and anytime you want to give me my clear skies back....

All the best,
Mark

Great photo's for sure!

It's also cool to watch the moon grow as you image it for us every night or so.

But it's really uncool how the moon grows to the point where it's so bright that it wipes out everything even worse than the worst light pollution does. Can you fix that at the same time you restore clear skies to everyone in the entire world? I mean, that's what co-admins do, right? Or does it take a full admin like this guy obviously is? :alien:

I'm always willing to share clear skies. Better bring some crackers or crusty bread, though, as they've been quite soupy.

Yeah, I think that's gonna take full admin rights to accomplish!
