The Moon : Eratosthenes Crater & Mount Apenninus

The Moon : Eratosthenes Crater & Mount Apenninus

ES 10" Truss Tube Dob
ED 3X Barlow
ZWO ASI 290 MM
Svbony UV-IR cut
Softwares Used : ZWO ASI Studio, Registax, Photoshop

This was captured a few days before Full Moon as the surface texture is quite prominent in this phase. The circular rim of the crater is quite distinct in the light and shadow and also the mountain range . 40% of all frames were taken to stacking and the final image was rigorously edited in Photoshop.

Hi Mainak. This is an extraordinary lunar image. You really caught a lot of nice details in your capture, including the Crater Eratosthenes collapsed walls and central peaks. And the Montes Apenninus show up splendidly too. As a lunartic, I really enjoyed your work Mainak, and congratulations on receiving the much deserved TSS APOD Award today.

I certainly thank to all of u who have liked my work..with 3x Barlow on a Truss Dob , it was certainly a difficult job to focus ..i spent many nights just 2-4 days befor each Full Moon to capture it ..many videos and photos with all my scopes were taken and edited..but all those were rejected by me as it was not up to the mark . And after many unsuccessful attempts , lastly I was a bit disappointed that i cannot capture it perhaps..but i didn't leave that. And it was the final output that i liked from a night's try. After editing, though it was not a very clear ,sharp and large size picture..as I had to crop it to some extent..but i had a good view in my opinion. I have a wish to do it again to get more clear view.
