That's a good one, Mark. I love the variation in surface coloration that you've pulled out. Nice work! :)

There is some good color here.
Thank you Bryan.
Trouble tonight was very high humidity. The air was calm but thick. 😊

I am lookkng forward to the dry air of the fall season.

BTW...is there an entry level cam that would serve on planets and the moon?
I think I might dabble a bit. 😊

I would look at the CMOS camera offerings. I only have experience with the ZWOs, but I like them well enough.

I would suggest going to this website - https://astronomy.tools/calculators/field_of_view/

Choose the "Imaging Mode" at the top, and plug in your intended scope parameters (focal length, aperture, etc) and select the Moon as the target. Then using the drop down box, select the different ZWO (or other) models from the list and see what frames the Moon most optimally for your scope.

Using my SV102T's parameters, that led me to the ZWO ASI174MC (a color cam) as it fit a full Moon nicely into the frame. That also allows me to add in a 2x barlow to craft mosiacs.

For planets and that scope, my ASI120MM has a smaller chip and hence a better framing for planets. Unfortunately, my ASI120MM is monochrome (hence the MM instead of MC). So I wish I have a small chip color CMOS cam for that purpose. :)

Love that pic Mark, so well done. A single frame to boot, wow! You are a tribute to Henry for sure.

Thank you for the PM last night; hope you don't mind I showed it to the girls. They send their love and thoughts to you as well as Henry's family; and Sarah has been wearing that necklace since she got it :D

I will talk to you tomorrow, getting up at 4AM is only 8 hours away!

All the best,
Mark
