A 99.8% illuminated Moon

So close to 100%

Earlier this evening, I had taken out my Towa 3" reflector in the hopes that the clear skies would continue past dusk. Not to be; at about 7PM the skies yucked up and I brought it all in.

The cat wanted to go out for the last time tonight as it's above freezing. I went out as well, and saw the shadows off my tree from the full Moon. Skies clear as well. Of course....

Well, when life throws you lemons, make lemonade. When it throws you a full Moon, take some pics. The full Moon is always a challenge; almost bright enough to require a solar filter!

I took out my C80-HD and Canon 550D (T2i), and this stack of 15 at ISO 200 and 1/800th sec exp was the best of the bunch. I processed it with PIPP, AS3, then ran the stack through ImPPG, then Photoshop.

Nice work Mark, isn’t this always the way. My garden was lit blue last night and we needed the black out blind in the bedroom. I’ll probably have a go with the Starwave tonight. I would like to work on something other than the , but that may be a struggle.

Thanks for the wake-up call Tony... I'm so used to hosting images either from my computer or one of my domains. All I had to do was put the link in with no tags wrapped around it; it's even easier

I've been wanting to take out my barn-door tracker for some time, and the only time the skies are clear is when there's the large reflective rock rising in the east after twilight. You're so right; isn’t this always the way!
