Moon and Mars

Hi all, hope your well

I managed to find some time after midnight to check out what Refractordude had posted about the other day; an upcoming conjunction of the Moon and Mars. Unfortunately, my skies were not cooperating, and I'm a bit too tired to wait for that perfect window...

This is the Moon and Mars at five minutes after midnight EST, taken with my Canon T2i and my 60mm f/7 homemade 'Towatron'. The Moon is 9 degrees above the horizon, with Mars at 2 degrees to the left of it. Single shot at ISO 800 and 1/80th sec exposure. Notice the haze...!

With any luck my bladder will wake me up at 4ish and the skies will be clear...

Hi all, I think the closest conjunction is on the 27th. My wife shows me this odd meme on Facebook, that showed duplicate moons side by side under the caption see two moons! The timing may be rubbish as the memes photoshopping and headline. If anyone read the text it did say, Mars and the moon... Mars has to get it's act together to compete with size and output.
