Friday 13th Moon

#1

Post by Mac »

I woke up early to test the guiding of my AVX and had hoped to image some DSO but Murphy happened to visit me and before I knew it, the Sun is rising.

So I decided to image the Moon. Skies were very poor with the Moon dancing around in the scope like crazy so the results are less than stellar!

Nice contrast, Steve! Love the ejecta rays you've pulled out around Copernicus. :)

Thanks Bryan...

I threw the lemons as hard as I can.

I tried stacking multiple images but the Moon was shimmering so much, the stacking made it worse so I stuck with the best single frame.

Super image Steve. When I got up this morning at 6am the moon was shining through the clouds and into the living room. Quite a beautiful sight. Hadn't seen the sky for a week because of rain and clouds.

Thanks Michael.

I could have read a newspaper from the brightness and knew I would not get close to a bladekeeper quality image with all of the shimmering going on. The Moon was not too high above the horizon which didn't help.

This night the viewing was excellent. The skies cleared for less than an hour.

This is a shot thru the tree limbs as it was too $@#$@#$ cold to wait for it to clear them. It was around 4F
