Stellina, Mixed Results; M63 (Sunflower) and M105 Cluster
Some mixed results tonight.
Here is M63 (the Sunflower Galaxy) at 26 min, 50 seconds (161 images stacked). She lost contact when the clouds moved in. An hour later, it cleared for a while. I started with the cluster at M105, and got about 9 minutes in before it all stopped at 9 minutes (54 images stacked) .
It indicated "sky quality" but I am not sure what is going on. It is right around 32 degrees now so I parked-it for a while.
If I get up (or wake-up later) I may try M57

This is the attachment that was supposed to be the M105 cluster, just starting to appear...

What would be the longest the Stellina can accurately track for? Before stars start to trail?

The unit is designed to take 10-second snaps, and then live-stack the images. It does track, but there is absolutely no manual setup at all, save leveling the unit when you put it in.Graeme1858 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 5:41 am What would be the longest the Stellina can accurately track for? To the unit's defense, I was operating this at-or-below specified temperature ranges. It was/is definitely acting a bit weird during very-cold environments. It was about 26 degrees this morning when I snapped the M57 image posted on the other thread, and I was not getting things working well (thus a sub-2 minute exposure).
There is a good chance it frosted-up a bit during last night images. The PowerTank (the large one) had a good coating this morning. There were definite signs of "rejected images" by the unit, which is what it will do when it is not capturing well. The observation will "fail" and the software will tell you so.
I also had signs of the
There should be some warmer temps next week, and possibly some clear-skies time. I will see how well it works with the moon past half, and with the motors/lubrication/electronics back in operating range.
