Here's one image from my session tonight.

Image

I'll stack and calibrate the rest of the subs tomorrow got to go to bed now. Hopefully the rest are a bit more satellite free!

Regards

Graeme

Aw, that is a shame!

I hope that you don’t have too many more of these!

Best of luck with the processing Graeme.

Don't worry too much Graeme, your stacking software should easily remove all those satellite trails.

Look forward to the finished image.

Yeah me too! I'll be processing this evening. I usually get the odd one but not 3 in one sub!

That would be brilliant! I'll see how it goes.

DSS and Kappa-Sigma stacking mode has done a great job of removing satellite and airplane lights for me. Give it a whirl! Because I'm nosy, is that M31 hiding behind the trails?

Cheers Bob

I tried switching from Median to Kappa Sigma previously but didn't notice any difference. I'll try it again if it helps with satellite trails.

It's not M31 in fact it's NGC3953, close to M109. I'm hoping it will be more prominent once calibrated and stacked. This is my first go of a full set of darks, bias and flats. I stayed up late on a school night!

Regards

Graeme

Yep. Graeme, a few days ago during my last sky safari, I once again noted a string of satellites coming out of the Northwest, passing directly overhead at the zenith and travelling Southeast until they were disappearing about fifty degrees above the horizon when they traveled into the Earth's shadow. I personally noted about eight of them, all in a perfect row but spaced twice as far apart than they were when I first noted them (or other similar satellites) late last year. Others had noted that earlier procession too, including some amateur astronomers' in Michigan whose accounts and photos were included in the news piece. I assume these satellite wagon trains are the work of Elon Musk who is flooding Earth orbit with a network of small satellites.
Telescopes: Meade LX90 10-inch f/10 UHC Coma-free SCT; Explore Scientific 127mm f/7.5 APO ED triplet refractor; Explore Scientific 102mm f/7 APO ED triplet refractor; Explore Scientific 80mm f/6 APO ED triplet refractor; Skywatcher 72mm f/6 ED Schott doublet refractor; Meade 70mm f/5 APO quadruplet astrograph refractor; Skywatcher Quattro 8-inch f/4 Newtonian astrograph; Orion 6-inch f/4 Newtonian astrograph; Skywatcher SkyMax 180mm f/15 Maksutov; iOptron 150mm f/12 Maksutov; Orion f/9 Ritchey-Chretien RC astrograph
Eyepieces: Set of 7 Baader Hyperion eyepieces, 3 Meade 5000 glass handgrenades; 1970s era Japanese manufactured Meade 12.5mm Orthoscopic, and too many other eclectic eyepieces to list
Mounts: Skywatcher EQ6-R Pro mount; Orion Atlas EQ-G mount
Post-production Software: Not good enough … oh, okay ... Canon's proprietary CanoScan ArcSoft 9000F photoshop suite
