M97 and M108

Two nights ago, I decided to image the duo of M97 and M108. I had only tried imaging it once already but that was years ago and that photo didn't turn out so great. This time though I was able to capture 3 hours worth of RGB data and calibrate and stack them in PixInsight.

I was debating whether or not to add some Ha data to it but I am pretty satisfied with the way it looks with just the RGB data in it!

Hello Scott. A beautiful pair of objects in your image. Nice contrast and upon mouse click up magnification, the Owl's eyes really become apparent. And, as James said, you did a great job in framing this capture. Thanks for sharing this excellent view with us Scott, and keep up this great work.

I noticed last night while looking at the photo, M108 reveals a suprising amount of detail! Does anybody know what that structure running through the center of the galaxy is called?

Not sure exactly what it is called but here's a good overview of M108 mentioning it's complex central regions.
