Bored, playing with color calibration...

#1

Post by UlteriorModem »

Since I haven't had clear skys in almost a month. I decided to play with some data.

Good ole M42. Decided to try PixInsight's photometric color calibration. It did a fine job! :D

That is a good job Tom.

The M42 nebulosity is quality and the Running Man stands out well too.

Boy Tom, I'm running out of even old data to reprocess!! Up here in Indiana I've had 1 clear night in 4 weeks (I think...time is just relative with all that's going on) and I'm stuck in the house with virtually NOTHING to do. I like that photometric color calibration tool....it really does a good job! Hopefully, the clouds will part and we can get some new data.....one positive thing.....I don't think I need to social distance from my telescope!!
Hope You're Doing Well!!

Tom,

Thanks for posting this- will have to play with that tool some more. I assume they have updated since last time I tried it? For a long while, it seemed to make images very ‘rose’ colored... but this image of yours looks very nicely balanced.
