a good 5 hours of processing .. my pi crashed ! so i had to restart.

two panel mosaic

total of both frames
31x300s ha
48x120s green
48x120s red
60x120s blue

nailed the mosaic merge with distortion correction, the stars are on point at the seams even with my bad coma corners, used rgb workspace and the nbrgb script for the ha data, all the outer region ha data is not shown in the rgb data, it is purley from the ha frames. nbrgb is a great tool to get that ha and rgb data to look natural .

Well done, great image.

During my processing on PI, I frequently save the project so I don't lose the whole thing and have to start over if something goes wrong. It can take a bit of disk space after a couple dozen images. I go ahead and delete them after a while. (I guess I could archive them somewhere, but after a final image, I don't see a lot of value to saving them.)

Very interesting rendition. The Ha yields a background I haven't seen before. Nicely done.

Cheers,
Steve

Yobba,

You have an awesome image of M20. Since this is a two panel mosaic, I am guessing you used the 12" LX200. That is a great star field background. The nebula around the main object is very well defined also.

As I am processing in PI i keep the most recent 4 or 5 images in the sequence.I will save the file and add a _ABE after the ABE process, and so on so I know where the image came from. It also provides a way to go back and redo a step or two if you don't like the result. After the session is complete, any interim image can be deleted.

The mosaic processing is superb. You can't see where the line is between the two images.

Best regards,
Mike

Excellent job on the merge. Very nice color and background coming through.
I love the NBRGB script. I use it quite a bit for NB processing. I always thought it did a better job on star color.
Cheers!

I used my 12'' f4 truss tube, i can fit the target but i did a mosaic for the the star field which in my opinion makes this target more interesting .

I saved the final image as a .xsif so i could edit it later.
I did a small amount of colour correction, took the focus off the background, slightly removed a bit of green.
