The Rosette Nebula - Ha/Oiii (7.5hrs)

#1

Post by depratnt »

Greetings!

As I sit and wait for the full moon to wane, the only nebula out right now that I have access too is the Rosette Nebula. I concluded my data gathering processing last night with 5hrs of Ha data and 2.5hrs of Oiii data. The weather is rather warm here in Colorado and the winds are rather strong as well. Good imaging nights have been few and far between. Collecting 2-3hrs of data a night usually wont lead to very large project.

I decided to go with a starless version to enhance the awesome amount of small whispies in this area. I'm happy with these results nonetheless.

I hope you all enjoy. Clear Skies,

Another outstanding image with extraordinarily sharp details and … er, "whispies". Thank you for sharing, Teagan. I look forward to seeing the version with stars.

Once again, very Hubblesque.

Very nice, Teagan. I love the detail you have brought out. And by looking at it side by side with the one I shot a couple of weeks back, it helps me know I am on the right track, although not catching the level of detail you are pulling :)
