Thor's Helmet...First Try Ever
Well here's my first try on ever imaging Thor's Helmet....somehow I don't think Thor would be too pleased!! I need A LOT more data, and with the weather conditions and the limited amount of time this object is imageable.....don't know if that's gonna happen! There's 4 hours each of HA and OIII @1200s and 8 hours of LRGB @300s. This IS a TOUGH one!!!
Anyway, hope ya like it better than Thor will!! Tom

Re: Thor's Helmet...First Try Ever
Beautiful internal details and Blue colors Tom. More time will definitely help, but, this is a great start. Amazingly crisp details!
16 hours and it's just a start! Now that is a tough target. I still remember when I was only getting 30 sec subs on my NexStar 4SE Alt/Az mount, and, only about 40% of them were usable. Hours of effort would produce maybe 30 or 40 min Total Exposure with meager results. Amazingly I was using the same used Canon T3 that I still use today (now it is modified) andGimp to process. Wow, now that is a trip down memory lane.
Look forward to the evolution of this one.
Steve
