UGC 2495 + 2500

UGC 2495 (PGC 11449) is a S0 spiral on the right side of the image. This galaxy appears to have a faint tidal tail looping around on the left (east) side.

UGC 2500 (PGC 11484) is a SBa spiral at the center of the image.

Luminance – 24x600s – 240 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

360 minutes total exposure – 6 hours

Imaged December 31st, 2019 and January 17th and 18th, 2020 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.

Nice one Dan. Any thoughts on the possible interaction between 2495 and 2500 causing 2495's tidal tail? The tail does look pretty pronounced and it shows up identically on DSS2 as well. I didn't look up their respective red shifts.

I think I looked into that but I think the distances were quite a bit different if I'm remembering right.
