Sh2-82 (Little Cocoon), LBN 128 and 129, Cederblad 168

Here is an image of Sh2-82 - also known as LBN 129. Close by is LBN 128 also known as Cederblad 168. I understand these objects to be related in terms of the general gas and dust region in which they reside. The diagonal dust lane is pretty well populated with cataloged Dobashi dark nebula objects.

Image and details can be accessed from the link below. I also have a link to the annotated image. To some, the background may seem to have a red tint to it. I left this in intentionally since it was part of the Ha data that was somewhat pervasive low level signal outside the dark lanes.

Thanks Kathy. Keep in mind I had nearly pristine sky conditions and 50% more exposure time. You did seem to get better red saturation than I did.

Precisely... I was going to say.

I had just looked at Kathy's before seeing this one and it seems that Kathy's is actually really good all things considered.

Thanks BABO. Its always interesting to see different imagers tackle the same target. Particularly on an object less frequently imaged as this one. It is also interesting to see images on the internet of Sh2-82. Most are medium to wide fields (like Kathy and I have done). There are a few close in images - I would have expected this one to be shot more in close up.
