Re-processed Image: IC63 The Ghost of Cassiopeia

#1

Post by Juno16 »

Hi All,

I'm in the same boat as many of us here. No clear skies (at least during the nighttime hours).

I surely hope to catch more data on this target later in the year (especially rgb stars). After adding more data and rgb stars (future), I will process this data with the new tools (mainly BlurXTerminator).

Far from a complete reprocess, just a few tweaks. Slight reduction in blue to reduce the purple/pink hue to the lighter areas of nebulosity.
Brightened nebula and faint areas of nebulosity at the bottom of the image.

Thanks again to Steve King (steve333) for his immensely helpful Pixinsight processing postings!

Hope to get some new data soon!

Equipment and capture data is available on the Astrobin link (click on the image) below.

As always, thanks for looking and comments are very welcome!

Wow Jim, I guess I missed your first take on this, but that is an awesome image! 27 Cas looks like it's shining a light on the top part of the nebula! I hope your skies clear and you can get more on this. Clear skies... what's that again?

Big scratch for Jack :D

Hi Mark!
Thanks buddy!
Navi is tough to image for sure! It’s the source of ghostly excitement!
I’m sure looking forward to clear skies too.
This target will be imageable later this year and hopefully I can catch more photons.
BTW, I walk over to Jack and give him a scratch every time that you mention it and he appreciates it!
