NGC2246

A wonderful area of nebulosity, NGC2264, designates two astronomical objects as a single object: the Cone Nebula and the Christmas Tree Cluster. Two other objects are within this designation but not officially included are the Snowflake Cluster and the Fox Fur Nebula. All of the objects are located in the Monoceros constellation and are approximately 2,300 light-years from Earth.

Taken with a Takahashi FSQ 85-EDX and a ZWO ASI6200mm with NB filters for 20 hrs.

OMG, that is absolutely incredible! The level of detail is on another level, the colours look amazing and yet not dense and overall beautifully processed. And taken with a Takahashi FSQ 85-EDX we are not worthy

Thanks, Steve! It started out as a traditional SHO palette, but I then got some creative juices and used the Color Mask script, followed by CurvesTransformation, in PI to play with it until I got what I liked. So, this one is a bit unusual. This area of nebulosity is so bright and dynamic, that many palettes look wonderful.
