IC434 and Flame Nebula

I was able to capture several more hours in HA and Sii last night. We were only supposed to get a few hours of clear skies but it was clear most of the night.

HSS or some variation thereof. HA 185 x 300 sec. Sii 45 x 300 sec.

This is 2022 and 23 data combined using the Radian Raptor, ASI1600MM and 7nm filters. I don't think I would benefit from any more TOT but would like to get RGB stars.

What an awesome image!
The way my mind works when I enlarged it the gas cloud looked like there was a man with no head and a tree growing sideways with a fire behind it great detail,blew my mind !

thanks Steve. I have captured new Oiii but the haloes were huge. The 7nm ZWO filter is really bad on bright stars.

I am at the point of diminishing returns now with collecting more HA or S2. Might never get around to it the year and may incorporate the little I have from last year where I photoshopped the one HUGE halo out but it didn't look right to combine with this data.

Sorry to hear about the halo problems. I have a little problem with halos, but, can usually eliminate the problems with processing. Big halos are really tough to deal with. Maybe a better filter? It's only $$$$$$ - Chuckles
