Black Velvet Nebula - HaRGB

Hi Folks!

I wanted to share with you all my photo of a dark nebula in Cygnus! I did collect a full narrowband data set but I really like the HaRGB version due to the more natural color. This would have ultimately looked best with just LRGB filters but my skies are simply too bright!

Scopes: GSO 8rc
Mount: iOptron CEM60
Camera: ASI1600mm-PRO
Guide cam: QHY5L-ii monochrome

For those interested, here is the SHO/RGB version. I believe I actually posted this a while back! This makes me want to attempt more HaRGB targets.. something I've voided heavily due to channel combinations issues

I really like the HaLRGB version! The stars are a bit more pronounced but, I think that helps make it great!

Both are beautiful. I prefer the SHO because it brings out more details for me. Thanks for sharing both images!

Hi Teagan. I like both versions of your Black Velvet Nebula image because the SHO shows more details and the HaRGB looks more natural. That sure is a lovely image. I love the SHO image too but both are amazing. Beautifully done.
