That’s a beautiful image Kathy!

Love the framing, great punch/contrast and the star colors are awesome.

Did you use HDR on the brightest stars? They are very well-defined, with binary companions clearly visible. Well done!

Thanks, Mike. No HDR used. I used Arcsinh Stretch for the stars. I am not sure if that was a good idea: it did weird things to the colours. I am thinking of retrying the processing to see if I can get better colours. I used masks to bring up the target and to tame the halo on the brightest star.

The main influence on the stars is Deconvolution. I do that regularly on my stars now. I use PSFImage (in PixInsight) while the image is still linear to sample the point spread function. Then, after stretching, I do Deconvolution, applying the sampled PSF. It gives me nice tight stars with minimal artifacts.

A spooky-looking apparition. I like it though, really stands out. Almost like it's ready to jump off the image. Beautiful star colours too.

Very nicely done Kathy!
Bringing out any dusty detail with under 3 hours of integration time is quite a feat!
How heavily cropped is this? Our FOV's are about the same.

It is hardly cropped at all, just stacking artifacts. This image is 96% of the full frame.

Hello Kathy. Another great DSO image from you. This time it is Barnhard 175 in LRGB light. Excellent contrast, a nice star field, and the dark dust clouds look almost like a penguin.
