This image is Thor's Helmet (
NGC 2359). It is a modified HOO image with
RGB stars. I did the NB in the unlocked mode (1x1 bin) of the ASI294. I don't remember now if it was inadvertent or on purpose. I had a lot of trouble with WBPP in
PI with the 1x1 bin subs - they would not register. It was probably due to hot pixels remaining after calibration (according to what I was reading on the
PI Forum). I even tried aggressive cosmetic correction but it was a no go. I finally manually registered all of the NB subs manually (using DynamicAlignment). All 96 of them - Ugh!
There is not much to annotate in this small field (39 arc minutes). But there was surprising conflict in the catalog databases regarding the nearby
IC 468 (LBN 1040), as well as
NGC 2361.
Image and details can be accessed at the link below (or by clicking on the thumbnail image below). The annotated image has a link below but it can also be accessed from the main image webpage as well. The full
FOV image can be accessed from the image webpage and has an image scale of about 0.62 arcsec/pixel.
