Iris (NGC7023) close up

Finally the clouds have parted and I imaged 5 nights on the Iris with the QHY268C on the EdgeHD11 (.8x reducer). NGC7023 was my first target when I went down the rabbit hole and every year I have to give it another try. Total time was 15hrs with 450x120sec subs. Processed in APP and Pixinsight. Thx for looking and C&C always welcomed.

Most impressive Alex. I don't know I have ever seen that tight a FOV of the Iris. you have really captured it and processed it very well.

Nice job Alex. Though I'm a little torn over the single bright star in the center being the only one with diffraction spikes.

I really think you captured a wonderful image, well done.
I’ve learned a lot since I knew it all.
150mm Orion Mak-Cass, Orion StarSeeker IV GoTo mount, Telrad.
Orion 10 & 23mm (set 1.25), Explore Scientific 9 & 18mm, 2x GSO Barlow, just purchased 2” Orion twist diagonal, GSO 32mm plossl and Agena 8-24 zoom.

Hey Greg, I was also torn about adding the spike to the central star. I just wanted to define the star location as that area of the nebula is pretty diffuse.

Beautiful image Alex. Actually, adding the spike on the central star makes the image a bit on the artistic side. So it's appealing from that standpoint.
