M81, M82 and NGC3077

This cropped image is 1hr 57mins 30secs of 150sec exposures at ISO200 with an Optolong UV/IR cut filter. On the 1st of this month, I took this with my modified Nikon D5300 and SWED72 + 0.80 reducer. Weather and time permitting, I want to collect a few hours on this to try and liberate the IFN in this area, so this is a WIP image. I hope you like it, and C&C is always welcome. :)

Very nice image G!

With the uv/ir cut filter. Nice!

After my last M45 image, I am a uv/ir fanboy now!

Nice capture of the M82 starburst area. Also, very nice framing.

Best of success on the IFN. The IFN was a fail for me. At least my processing could not bring it out. Even with over 8 hours on my last attempt, I still had no luck. I ought to give it another go in PI and see what "develops".

Thanks, Jim. I'm hearing you about the UV/IR cut filter for galaxies and reflection nebula. I can't wait to get a good shot of M45 with it! Yes, 8hrs should be enough so I think you should give it another shot in PI. This guy managed to pull it out in PI with only just over an hour https://www.astrobin.com/g8htu5/0/ hmmmm, that means I should too lol.
