NGC7380 SHO Reprocess

There are no scope nights in the foreseeable future so am reprocessing some old data from 2019 of the Wizard Nebula in SHO. Taken with the Stellarvue SVR102T and the QHY163M, total 7hrs 20min.

I can't say it has been one process that I've changed, in general I'm just starting to better understand a few processes in Pixinsight thx in a huge part to Warren Keller's book 'Inside Pixinsight'.
The three that I like using the most are Masked Stretch (it controls the stars and background much better than Histogram Transformation), Starnet++ to separate and process the image and stars separately and PixelMath which I find much more flexible than the SHO-AIP script for palette combinations.

That's a great repro. I like the toned down stars.

I also like the repro better. However, I think when the stars were added back in they were rotated relative to the starless image. The first clue was that the Wizard's "eye" (bright star) is missing in the repro. Looks like they are rotated about 180 degrees.

Thx Steve, I didn’t notice but that’s exactly what happened. I rotated the starless image but not the stars before recombining them..lol

Ha! Yeah, I have been doing stars separately for a while - can't say I have had that problem. Nice catch and correction. BTW I think the reprocess is hands down a superior improvement.
