Re: NGC7380 SHO Reprocess
I can't say it has been one process that I've changed, in general I'm just starting to better understand a few processes in Pixinsight thx in a huge part to Warren Keller's book 'Inside Pixinsight'.messier 111 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 3:30 pm very nice , can you explain to me what you did please.
just so that I understand the process better , thx .
The three that I like using the most are Masked Stretch (it controls the stars and background much better than Histogram Transformation), Starnet++ to separate and process the image and stars separately and PixelMath which I find much more flexible than the SHO-

Re: NGC7380 SHO Reprocess
Thx Steve, I didn’t notice but that’s exactly what happened. I rotated the starless image but not the stars before recombining them..lolSTEVE333 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 2:52 am I also like the repro better. However, I think when the stars were added back in they were rotated relative to the starless image. The first clue was that the Wizard's "eye" (bright star) is missing in the repro. Looks like they are rotated about 180 degrees.
