NGC 7380/The Wizard Nebula

#1

Post by jnelson »

Keeping in the spirit of the season (Halloween that is) I was able to grab 28 x 180s subs of the Wizard Nebula last evening. Reasonably clear & crisp but still under a 93% moon, the Ha/Oiii filter on the ASI 533 was able to bring out a fair amount of detail with a new scope (ES 80ED). First light for me using it as I recently purchased it from someone who just used it for visual astronomy. Working out the kinks with the new scope cut into my imaging time as did my mount reaching its slew limits :(. Definitely left me wanting to take another crack at it.

Congratulations on your first light image with the new telescope. Look forward to seeing many WFOV images with your setup.
