NGC 6826 - Blinking Planetary in Cygnus

#1

Post by bernhardhubl »

Hello,

I used a few nights in August and September with good seeing but a very bright moon to capture an image of the very small but very bright planetary nebula NGC 6826 (also known as Blinking Planetary). Due to its high surface brightness, very short single exposure times are required. A much fainter halo with a diameter of 2 arc minutes can be captured with longer exposure times.

Hi Bernhard. This is a superlative image of NGC 6826. A very nice central star and the surrounding nebulosity and color is wonderful. Thanks for sharing your capture with us Bernhard and congratulations on receiving the TSS APOD Award today.

Very interesting target Bernhard, not sure I've seen this one before.

Nice processing to bring out the internal details.

beautifully done Bernhard, exquisite detail, not and easy target especially for something relatively small.
