This is from about three weeks ago, the result of two nights of imaging combined. It is narrow band, just in case this was not clear from the orange and purple hues (10x5 min Ha, 12x5 min OIII, 18x5 min SII). I may have assigned the RGB layers differently than usual but I wanted the Ha to look red.

This is my first proper narrowband image, stacked in DSS and edited in Gimp. The latter works and maybe I need to get more experience but I think I will put PI on my Xmas wish list. Editing gradients in Gimp takes more effort than I like with my skills, hopefully PI will be smoother.

What I like about the image compared to OSC is the higher resolution. For sure there's a lot to learn about processing but for now this one's done.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments as I tread the new-to-me NB waters, your support is appreciated. Let me add the Ha-only image of 10x5 minutes after some gradient removal and stretching. I had done this target once before and ran short of OIII and SII data due to the weather. This time I too a lot more of that but it did not add much. I like the Ha though.
Ha_small.jpg
I have another 8x5 minutes Ha from September but did not combine it. Just another thing to get used to don't remove the lights until you are finally finally done because to re-stack different groups of lights you need them. I usually delete all my lights when I'm done stacking.

I vaguely remember that the image can be enhanced quite a bit by using luminosity, something I did not do this time. I'll get there.

Hello Henk. This is very fine work on the Wizard Nebula in NB. The color assignments resulted in a very nice palette of nebulosity colors and details. Thanks for giving us a look at this capture Henk and keep up the great work.
