LBN 782 and other dark nebula

#1

Post by starfield »

Completed another trip out to the desert last weekend in search of the dark and dusty. The target was LBN 782, a reflection nebula in the Taurus Molecular Cloud complex. There are a number of other dark nebula in the shot too, B7, B9, B209, and B211. Down in the right you'll even find a bonus galaxy, IC359.

40 frames or Lum and 15 frames each RGB shot at 121 gain a 240 seconds each. Nothing like dark skies.

Nice processing to bring out all the dust along with the nebula.

Superb image Steve!

Do you see the snarling face in this image? It's creeping me out (we must be close to Halloween!) It's in the left third of the image looking down to the bottom left corner. The fairly bright star centered in the dark dusk cloud is the eye.

Nicely done,
