Sh2-114_the Flying Dragon nebula

#1

Post by MariusD69 »

Hello!
Located in the Cygnus constellation, Sh2-114 is a faint emission nebula. Five hours of Ha ( however, captured in the moonlight) revealed that I was far away of the required exposure time. I think it needs over 20 hours of Ha. For RGB image I used OSC camera (ASI294MC)- captured last night with L-enhance filter, 24 frames of 10 minutes.
I used Ha as luminance. Both images (OSC and Ha) were over stretched, which affected the stars.
Clear skies!

Very nice Marius!

I definitely see the dragon!

Too tough a target for my LP and limited sky time. However, I can very much enjoy your image.

Congratulations on the APOD!

Hi Marius. A superb Flying Dragon Nebula image. The Dragon really stands out in your capture and the emission color looks pretty good for the exposure time. Thanks for sharing this with us Marius and congratulations on receiving the TSS APOD Award today.

Thank you all.
@notFritzArgelander
I'm afraid I'll not add more data in this season. Only better frames, taken under dark skies (no moonlight), would improve the capture. And bad weather was forecast for the next two weeks, starting tonight. Moreover, I have other targets started and unfinished.
