The Elephant Trunk Nebula - An SHO rendition consisting of about 20hrs of total data. This huge pillar of gas spans nearly 20 light years tall and is a region of active star formation!
For this image, I really wanted to accentuate the alien like structure by highlighting the greens and the blues. I am sure I will do a more classic orange/blue version here soon. I hope you all enjoy. We're getting closer to fall and Halloween and I think this target is about as spooky as you can get. Clear skies everyone
