Appologies to Alan (Kt4hx)

#1

Post by Gordon »

First off, I need to apologize to Alan, @kt4hx

I got my new autoguider and wanted to try it out last night. I figured what the heck lets do this months DSO challenge. So I went to the forum Portal and clicked on the announcement. Noted the targets and set out to capture them.

Now in my defense..... I'm old, forgetful etc etc. After having a great night imaging (guider works great) I came back in and went to sleep.

This morning I'm processing the images and started thinking, gee these look familiar. Went to the DSO challenge page and discovered that I had duplicated the ones for April.....

Now that's not a bad thing. I have changed scopes and was able to target each of the three separately, so it wasn't a wasted effort.

Now a couple of things.

1. I fixed the link to the DSO challenge
2. If the sky holds out, I have a great reason to go out and collect the CORRECT targets for the May Challenge!! viewtopic.php?f=83&t=17890

So my feeling is we need to fire the guy who forgot to post the correct link in the first place. AND work on some puzzles to get some of the brain working again!!!!

Sorry Alan....
But this is what we got.....

Oops! Nonetheless, nice images of April's targets. No problem, I know about brain farts and such. Just a part of an aging brain, which I share. No harm, no foul Gordon. I do appreciate you owning up to it, but to be honest, I never even checked the link - perhaps I should in the future? :)

To be fair, we could all be checking things like Portal hyperlinks.

Very nice Leo triplet though! Can't wait to see your globular clusters!
