M86, M13 and M92

#1

Post by Mac »

We finally had some clear skies and the Moon wasn't rising until close to 2am. Transparency was excellent. I removed the Orion .8 reducer from the ED102 and I think the star colors are better and some odd gradients I had been getting were not seen. Might have been because the sky was nice and dark, low humidity.

M13 - added another 3 hours of time to prior captures with ~ 7hrs total

M92 - 7 x 120sec LUM ASI533

M86 - 75 x 60 sec

Thanks Ram... while I was intending on just imaging M86 and friends, the meridian flip failed. Each time I would tell my mount to slew to M86, after it crossed the meridian, it stayed on the same side. So I decided to image M92 while waiting for it to get a bit further past so the mount would slew and the scope would be on the East. Even when it was 10 degrees past, the mount still would not cooperate.

I then pointed to M13 and went to bed. Transparency was too good to get some of those fainter stars in the cluster.
