The Jellyfish

My second attempt at capturing the supernova remnant IC 443 the Jellyfish Nebula. First light using a newly acquired ZWO 533 MC pro cooled and first guided capture for me with a ZWO 30 mm mini guidescope. Grabbed 30 subs & 10 darks at 120s, gain 206, with AT60ED using a ZWO duo narrowband filter (Ha/Oiii). Had to bump up the gain and gamma a bit when debayering with PIPP in order to get some respectable images to stack and process with GIMP. Like the lack of amp glow with this camera.

Thanks! The avatar is a photo of a painting at the Grohmann Museum in Milwaukee, WI which has collections of art depicting the evolution of human work. Very enjoyable stop if you’re ever in Milwaukee.

Thank you! I think the camera should serve me well for some time esp with the nice FOV, high resolution, sensor size that matches up pretty well with my equipment and the added bonus of no amp glow. Thought that might of been a sales pitch but the darks bore it out.
