More Galaxy Getting NGC4244

Also called the 'Silver Streak" if I remember correctly, should be called the 'Ghost Streak" as it is very faint all the way across, and it is big, just a wisp of smoke in the wind. Again used my ASI1600Mc OSC for an hour total exposure, probably no where near enough. The central bulge is almost non-existent, but is definitely a different color from the edge-on arms. Lots of O-B association detail in the arms too.

Exposed 30/2 min thru Meade 16 LX200 at f6.2, 2500mm efl. Processed without any calibration files, just raw data, no darks, flats, etc., etc. Point and shoot!

Clear skies,
Steve

Nice galaxy, Steve, even if its centre is a bit flat.
It kind of proves that a spiral doesn't need a big bulge to be handsome.

Hi Steve. A nice image of NGC4244 for just 1 hour of data. And, it is well framed for a large "wispy" target too. Thanks for sharing this edge on galaxy capture with us on here Steve, and congratulations on winning the TSS APOD Award today.
