But of course, no sooner is the Scorpius Sagittarius core ensconsed behind the Sun, than the Summer Milky Way comes a calling. There are many great though lesser-known parts of the MW visible throughout the year. You just have to get out and look for them. This photograph was taken last night showing the Milky Way from Monoceros and Canis Major through to Centaurus. The Gum nebula is the extensive nebula at the centre of picture.
