One of my favorite galaxy subjects, google the famous Hubble pic of this thing. Wild flying arm structure, reminds me of a pair of ball-room dancers in full flight. Straight overhead this time of year in Andromeda, largely overshadowed by the more famous gals nearby, M31, 33,
NGC 891, etc... First clear period in three weeks with no moon, but seeing was very bad, stars all twinkling fiercely. Sky dark and transparent as the next storm system will approach by late evening, so got out early and was done by 21:30. The two nearby bright stars, mag 8.7 and 10.3, are always difficult to control, so I leaned on them in Photoshop, maybe too much.
Data, Meade 16 LX200 at f6.2 with Starizona reducer/corrector for 2500mm efl. Atik 460ex mono 10/5min lum, 2/5min red and green, 3/5min blue all 2x2 binned for 0.7"/pixel.
