Soul Nebula in HOO

#1

Post by STEVE333 »

This is 7 hours total exposure on the Soul Nebula. I've started using processing techniques I learned from a tutorial by Teagan (link below) that makes the blues "pop" as well as brings out the details. It has made my processing so much easier.

WO Star71 telescope, iOptron CEM40 mount, ASI1600MM camera, Chroma 3 nm Ha and O3 filters
29 x 600 sec Ha (4 hr 50 min), 13 x 600 sec O3 (2 hr 10 min) Total Exposure = 7 hr
Controlled with APT, Guided with PHD2, Processed with PixInsight

Thanks for looking.

Thanks all for the kind comments. I'm really enjoying learning about NB imaging and processing. I've gotten so much help from others here on the forum.

Below is a newer processing version of the same data. I believe it is a bit crisper and the stars are better. Hope you like it.
