#1

Post by dcrowson »

LBN 525 near the center is an HII region although it shows up well in normal filters. Lynds’ rates this one as a 1 out of 4 on the color scale – colorless. For brightness, this one is rated as a 6 out of 6, the faintest on the scale.

LBN 530 (MBM 1 and others) at the lower left is also an HII. This one is also at the same color and brightness as LBN 525. Several denser areas can also be found in the Planck Galactic Cold Clump (PGCC) catalog.

Luminance – 14x600s – 140 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

260 minutes total exposure – 4 hours 20 minutes

Imaged on August 20th, 2020 at the Danville Conservation Area (New Florence, Missouri) with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90EDT at f/6.7 603mm.

Certainly gets the prize for faint. Surprised you could get as much detail as you did.
