This is my first image posted to this site, my skies have been pretty smokey of late due to all the wild fires on the West coast, so my problems are tiny compared to those folks.

This is 113 subs of 75 seconds each, 15 darks, 41 flats

Taken on a Ha modified Nikon D5600, using an older Stellarvue 80mm F6 triplet. Auto guiding with a Lacerta MGEN II and and 50mm guide scope. All this mounted on an AVX mount.

I post processed using PI, but I tried the work flow documented on the Light Vortex website, and frankly I'm pretty amazed with out this came out. I really hope to get more data and then repeat the process again.

Nice image Ray, and, welcome to the forum. You captured some of the faint blue in the outer portions of the galaxy as well as nice details in the dust lanes. Well done.

I have a soft spot for New Mexico because my wife was born there in Hatch, NM. Her parents later moved to Bernalillo not far from you. My wife has passed away, but, her sisters still live in Bernalillo.

Ray,

Your M31 image is excellent. The dust lanes are very defined and the stars look good. I lived in Albuquerque for 10 years and loved to get out into the mountains to enjoy the views of the skies from there. It was always a short drive to get away from the lights.
