The Blue Snowball, NGC7662, in Andromeda. Imaged this last night while waiting for Mars to clear my house, it blocks 30 deg of elevation to the east. Also keeps out porch lights from neighbors that still believe they keep away crooks. Very bright object, 1 minute exposure clips the thing. Another planetary that is mostly Oiii,
Ha was very weak, hence the blue color with just a blush of pink.
Imaged in Meade 16 LX200 at f6.2, thru ASI1600MC-cool 10/30sec
RGB, 9/30sec Oiii, 9/60sec Oiii, 8/60sec
Ha, -20C temp, all 1x1 binned for 0.36 "/pixel at 2450mm efl. Captured and stacked in Nebulosity, final in
PS CS5, image cropped to 30% original size.
Clear skies, waiting for Mars again,
Steve
