NGC7822

Post by DMouse »

Hi all, well this was two nights of imaging. I did loose quite a few subs due to focus shift, and some to guiding errors, but still had enough for a very nice image. I spent some time last night adjusting the mounts polar alignment using Phd and a Drift Align so my tracking should be a little better. I have also adjusted my focus temp slope so hopefully at the next outing I will be one step better than this, finger crossed.
This image is a HA_L_RGB combination.
HA 300sec 1x1 x 25
L 300sec 1x1 x20
RGB 180sec 2x2 22 each filter.
Giving a total of 7 hours and 5minutes of total exposure time.
Processed in PixInsight. Darks, Bias, Flats and Flat Darks all applied.
Scope 12 inch RC with 0.67 reducer.
Camera ATIK383L+ mono, with EFW2 filter wheel and Baader 36mm filterset.
Clear Skies

Don't think I've ever seen this object before. Nice capture!

Nice detail and colour. I think I'd have stretched the nebula a little more, to make it more visible.
