This data was collected over two separate evenings out at our farm.
Although NGC 1499 is nearly 2.5° across, its low surface brightness kept it out of my reach, even with the 14.5" dobsonian (visual), which rendered it a prime object to seek out in this manner. Even in my 300 second subs, this is but a faint rectangular patch, with Xi Persei glaring nearby.
Thanks for looking!
P.S. This image caused me to consider the plight of California. I am thinking of those suffering the wildfires in this fine state, my hopes for your recovery of property and habitat.

Pretty cool Ian. Nice rendering of the California Nebula. Also, dark times can even come to the paradise we call California. One realizes that nature can impact us in so many ways, no matter where we are located on earth.

I first visited California for work (San Jose) back in the ’90s I got the chance to travel down from San Fran to Monterey. I fell in love with the place. Sue and I have had many holidays there. We were also there at the time of the 7/7 bombings in London, the love and friendship shown to us were second to none. These wildfires are appalling - stay safe all!
Wonderful fov you have with that SV. I would really like to have a smaller fov scope one day when I grow up, but I need to stop buying other things first!
Nice work on this fine image sir!

Thanks Jim, the good thing is that small fast scopes are not terribly pricey!
