I didn't think Nova Scotia had "back yards"... I though the whole place was one enormous dark site. :D

That image is beautiful. Time well spent.

Lol, yes compared to many locations it is a dark site. I am about 38 km outside our largest city, so I hover around bortle 3/4.

Hello mbenjaminz28. You have an excellent NGC 7023 (Iris Nebula and Caldwell 4) image here. Great contrast, beautiful stars, and colorful and detailed nebulosity and also the dust lanes. Thanks for sharing this fine capture with us mbenjaminz28, and congratulations on winning the TSS APOD Award today.

Thank you! I think it is one of my best ever.I almost knew right away it was going to be nice as processing was so easy. I am starting to figure out how to use this new camera properly. It's a CCD but it behaves more like a CMOS chip and for awhile it threw me for a loop.

Awesome. The iris shines in wonderful blue and the beautifully processed stars lift up the gloomy zone around it. I love how the many big, bright and colourful stars prevent the impression of a flower dumped in a puddle of mud.
