First photos with Stellina

#1

Post by Pikaia »

I recently bought a Stellina, and after a predictable spell of cloudy weather I finally had a full night of clear sky to try it out. These were all taken in fairly strong twilight, I will not get any Astronomical darkness until the end of the month. These images were made from Jpeg files output by Stellina, with some post-processing in Topaz Denoise and ON1.

Cool images.

Interesting instrument. it looks like its horizontal FOV is about 52 arc minutes and it is an Alt Azimuth movement. Is this so?

The actual FOV is 60' x 40', but I cropped some of the images slightly.

It is an Alt-Az. mount.

Nice images. I didn't realize it has an integrated derotator to correct for the rotation introduced by the Alt/Az mount. Pretty clever.

Thanks for sharing.
